
Melissa Barnett, OD, FAAO, FSLS is the Principal Optometrist at UC Davis Eye Center in Sacramento. She specializes in pathologies of the anterior segment and contact lenses. Dr. Barnett conducts conferences and publications on topics such as dry eye, anterior segment disease, contact lenses, corneal collagen crosslinking and building an appropriate balance between work and housework for women in the world of optometry. She is on the board of Women of Vision (WOV), Gas Permeable Lens Institute (GPLI), and The Scleral Lens Education Society (SLS). In addition, she presents at the STAPLE program and at the California Optometric Association.
The Dras. Melissa Barnett and Lynette Johns edited Contemporary Scleral Lenses: Theory and Application with the unique perspectives and contributions of international experts. Together with Dr. Daddi Fadel, Dr. Barnett published the Clinical Guide to Successful Scleral Lenses, a clinical resource for professionals.
